Our Process

From start to finish -
we’ll be there alongside you

Building a swimming pool is a significant investment, Ancient City Pools and Design is here to make the process go smoothly and quickly. We take pride in our commitment to delivering high-quality pool installation services tailored to your taste. Our standard pool construction and installation process is designed to ensure that your dream pool is built efficiently down to the last detail.

Step 1

Architectural Review and Building Permit Application

To start, we’ll review your property’s architectural requirements and obtain any necessary permits from the relevant authorities. We’ll also work with your Homeowners Association (HOA) if required to ensure that your pool design meets their guidelines.

Step 2

Excavation and Pool Layout

Once we’ve obtained the necessary approvals, we’ll excavate the sod, lay out your pool, and establish the elevation. We’ll then form the pool to your desired shape and size, ensuring that the form boards are 16”-20” larger than the finished dimensions to allow for 8”-10” of concrete.

Step 3

Plumbing and Steel Reinforcement

Next, we’ll install the rough plumbing and steel reinforcement for your pool. We’ll also conduct a steel inspection by the county building department to ensure that everything is up to code.

Step 4

Concrete Shell Installation

We’ll then install the concrete shell for your pool, followed by stripping the form boards and bending the rebar. We’ll backfill the dirt around the pool to the proper elevation, ensuring that everything is level.

Step 5

Electrical Grounding, Pool Tile, and Equipment Installation

After completing the main plumbing and pressure test, we’ll install the electrical grounding, pool tile, and equipment. If applicable, we’ll also form the footer and deck if concrete.

Step 6

Inspections and Finishing Touches

We’ll then conduct inspections by the county building department for the deck and/or footer, termite pretreat spray if necessary, and safety equipment installation. We’ll prep the concrete shell for the interior finish, place accent tile if applicable, and apply the interior finish.

Step 7

Final Inspection, Fittings Installation, and Pool School

Finally, we’ll fill your pool with water, start the pool equipment, and balance chemicals. We’ll conduct a final inspection by the county building department before installing fittings and an auto cleaner. We’ll then provide you with a pool school to ensure that you’re comfortable using your new pool.
